“Cruise-In” Supports Benedictine

The Chesapeake Classic Car Club held their monthly Summer cruise-in Saturday, Aug. 4 at Chick-fil-a in Easton, Md raising funds for Benedictine. CCCC hosts a cruise-in on the first Saturday of every month in the summer, beginning with a Spring Car Show and culminating with a Fall Car Show at the Elks Lodge in Easton, MD.  This month’s show drew more than 50 registrants and raised $515.00 for programs that support children and adults with developmental disabilities at Benedictine.

Participation and support from Mid-Shore Recovering Veterans Group and CPR Vintage Porsche Restoration made the event fun for registrants and individuals from Benedictine in attendance.

“A lot of people are out there doing good things and they wanted to come together and do better,” said Bruce Wakefield of CPR Vintage Porsche Restoration.

Chesapeake Classic Car Club President, Gary Faulkner knew there was an opportunity to support Benedictine with the summer cruise-in and what evolved from there created a memorable day for everyone.

The group from Benedictine who came out to enjoy the cars on display also had the honor of awarding a one-of-a kind ‘Benedictine’s Choice’ trophy, built and designed by Josh Pritchett, general manager of CPR Porsche Restoration. The award went to Lenny Shaffer for his “All Couped Up” 1934 Three Window Ford Coupe.
