Couples’ Gift Brings Benedictine’s Charity Golf Fundraising Total to $90,000

News of the recent success of Benedictine’s annual Charity Golf Tournament, held Friday, Oct. 18 at the Talbot Country Club in Easton, Md., which raised $45,010 to help children and adults with developmental disabilities, inspired a Lewes, De., couple to match the event’s fundraising total.

The generous $45k gift-match from John Johnson and Denise Kaczmarczyk, formerly of Chestertown, Md., brings Benedictine’s fundraising total for the event to $90k in support of the organizations programs and services.

“We wanted to amplify the success of the golf outing and match the total raised by tournament participants in further support of the Benedictine mission,” said Johnson. “Perhaps our donation will inspire and remind others that Benedictine is a very worthy cause.”

The couple was first introduced to Benedictine after reading about the funding needs of the organization. Last fall the pair visited the campus and connected deeply with the organization’s mission.

Today, they made a substantial gift to the Ridgely based organization where funds directly support the organizations programs and services that provide community-based learning opportunities for over 150 adults as well as on campus functional academics for the School’s 60 students.
