Benedictine Receives Excellence in Media Award

The Maryland Chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association on Friday, Nov. 8, recognized Benedictine communication manager Devon Bistarkey with the Excellence in Media Award at the 2019 Maryland Rehabilitation Conference.

The award is presented to an individual or organization for an outstanding record of portraying people with disabilities and their life experiences in a realistic and positive way. This year’s award inscription state, “Devon has worked hard to make the social media and newsletter a true reflection of the progress Benedictine is making toward the mission of an inclusive ad employable environment for all.”

As an organization that supports children and adults with developmental disabilities across the lifespan, Benedictine’s presence in social media, print, and video helps to bring awareness to its mission and advocacy for the people served.

The MRA is an interdisciplinary, professional organization committed to promoting best practices in rehabilitation services for people with disabilities, and recognized industry professionals during an award ceremony at the end of the two-day conference hosted at the Sheraton in Towson.
