Thank you for helping us 'Keep the Spirit Alive'
19th Annual Chrome City Ride: CANCELED
Many of you look forward to our annual Chrome City Ride as much as we do, but COVID-19 has created significant challenges. Out of an abundance of caution for the kids at Benedictine and all who would attend, the Committee decided to cancel the Ride as we know it on campus and instead created a “Ride” in spirit. The kids depend upon your support so much, and we hope you will keep the spirit of Chrome City Ride alive! Chrome City Ride, whether on campus or in spirit, would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors. We are so grateful for your support! We hope you will consider making a contribution this year,Keeping the spirit alive for this year’s Chrome City Ride.
A campus covered in chrome
Our campus is the unusual home to Maryland’s largest escorted classic car and motorcycle ride, the Chrome City Ride, an annual fundraising event that transforms a once functioning monastery into a chrome-covered campus. Since the inaugural ride in 2001, the event has paved the way for more than $1 million in funds raised to support the children and adults served here.
In total, over 10,000 participants over the years have made their way down the lane onto the Benedictine campus in Ridgely, Md. Notable attendees in years past include Candy Clark and Bo Hopkins from the 1973 classic American Graffiti as well as area politicians. The event attracts Hollywood donors as well. Car enthusiast Jay Leno, for more than five years, donated to the event as well as a collector from New Jersey who donated a 1941 Willys Pro Street Coupe in 2016.
