The Benedictine Parent’s Association is sponsored by the parents for the benefit of our children and the staff.
Our biggest goal is to make new and returning parents feel welcome and to feel they can be a part of the school through helping the children and staff have a great year. We are there to talk if you need another parent’s perspective and to lend an ear to listen. There is a new parent’s initiative to help with the special concerns and questions of first year families.
Our membership fee is $20. per year. We run one fundraiser a year, Innisbrook Wraps. The proceeds from this go toward the funding of mini-grants for the staff. The mini-grants provide staff with the extras needed to enrich our children’s education that are not normally included in the budget. Some of the mini-grants last year included sensory items for Total Communication class, TV/VCR for Life Skills students, writing with symbols program for the Speech and Language program. We also like to show our appreciation for the staff by providing a Welcome Breakfast, & Holiday cookies. Our activities are only limited by the number of parent volunteers. You are always invited to be a part!

Our
fundraiser is held in the fall so you can get a head
start on some holiday gifts.
The ever popular Innisbrook Wraps has a wide selection
of gift wraps, ribbons, gifts, and candy. Look for
your catalog to arrive by mail. Please make all checks
payable to Benedictine Parent’s Association.
The Parent’s Association receives a 50% profit
on all items purchased. We use all money to fund mini –grants
and other activities. Let’s all participate and
show the staff we value what they do for our children.
Lots
of us “old” parents have walked in your shoes
and are ready to help out when this transition time
arrives -and it is here! Please remember that this arm of the Parent’s
Association is specifically geared to our “New
Parents” and was formed just to share information
and answer questions on all those details that are
not covered in the parent’s handbook. So, for
your copy of our Frequently Asked Questions booklet,
or for the name of a parent representative near you,
please call.

with help from staff liaison
Marian Garey. The parent coordinator is Kathy Jacques
(410-798-0040) and the steering committee is in place to work with volunteer parents who help with various activities
throughout the year. We always need volunteers and
encourage you to check a space on the membership form
if we can count on you to be a part. All are welcome!
