Uncommon Victory

For a lifetime...

For a lifetime…

"For 19 years, I've had the benefit of all of the tremendous things that go on here every day, bringing all of these kids to their fullest potential — wonderful knowledge, encouragement, and love."

Learning! Childhood to Independence

Children with developmental disabilities have such intensive needs. The simplest acts — using a toothbrush, eating with a fork, tying a shoelace — present unimaginable challenges to a child whose development is significantly delayed. Yet, with early intervention, the learning, discovery, and growth that are so necessary to living a fulfilling life are possible for just about any child. Benedictine's highly qualified staff (1:4 staff/student ratio) works in the classroom, in the community, and in Benedictine's Residential Program to help each individual develop the essential skills he or she needs, like effective communication, social skills, and personal hygiene.

To encourage each student to reach his or her full potential academically, vocationally, and socially, Benedictine offers a curriculum that provides instruction in traditional academic subjects — reading, math, social studies, science — supplemented with the instructional and therapeutic services each student needs, including:

- Psychological and Psychiatric Services
- Social Work
- Occupational and Physical Therapy
- Vocational and Community-Based Instruction
- Communications Therapy
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Adaptive Physical Education and Aquatics
- Behavioral Programming
- Transitional Services
